2024 Season Preview
The 2024 trap shooting season is going to be our best season yet! This statement is bold, but our Shiocton Chiefs are coming off a strong 2023 season in which Jacob Schley earned the most prestigious Wisconsin State High School Clay Target League award in trap shooting, "High-Over-All", and he accomplished this by hitting 347 out of 350 clay targets. The team finished 2nd place in conference in the 2023 season and earned 5th place as a team at the 2023 state tournament with strong performances from Jacob Schley, Austyn Neubert, Connor Bergsbaken, Will Harris, and Miles Suprise.
Our participation has increased by 25% from last season to this season. 18 Shiocton student athletes will compete this season and together we have a singular goal: win 1st place team at the 2024 state tournament. Depending on how we score this season and how we compete at the state level, we have a secondary goal to qualify our top 5 shooters to compete at the national Clay Target League Tournament in Mason, MI from July 11-14, 2024.
Do we have lofty goals? Yes.
Can we reach our goals? Yes, with a lot of practice, focus, and determination.
We would like to thank our school and the Shiocton community for supporting our competitive goals. Also, we would like to thank the Outagamie Conservation Club for hosting our students and for their generosity and continued support of our team.
Go Chiefs!
